Some thoughts on bar codes, as I just recently had a reason to look into the
subject in a bit of depth.
1) There are a lot more types of barcode out there than you may realize -
and most of them you would not recognize as barcodes even if you looked
straight at them.
2) Many of the barcode systems carry a lot more data than you might realize;
up to several kilobytes in a surprisingly small area.
3) In the keitai case, since the scanner is likely to be infrared, there is
really no reason to print the barcode in a human visible ink anyway...
