Well, it's certainly not a Nokia 9500, mine (v 4.44(01)) produces this
user agent:
"Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Series80/2.0 Nokia9500/4.34.0
Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1)"
I don't have immediate access to our 9300, but I seriously doubt it
would flat out lie about the OS. (As I assume you know, it runs Opera,
which appears to have decided to spice the string in IE fashion to have
more chances on stupid website - it works pretty well too!)
In my experience, Nokias (at least non-keitai) are pretty good at
telling the correct OS and phone model - this is very useful when
building a site for .sis-file downloads as we can easily default to the
correct version - assuming that the user is downloading to the phone
where it is to be installed.
My best guess for the above user agent is that it is a Nokia proxy - or
possibly some kind of internal beta product. A lot of them seem to
originate from *.nokia.com sites.
