Hello list members - this is my first post.

I see from the archive that your topics are quite technical; I hope this newbie question is appropriate.

I recently moved to Japan from Canada and inherited this phone - CDMA / Global Passport / Sanyo C1001SA. It's my first experience with 3G.  As you likely guessed, there are no English instructions to speak of.

At this point, I have a few questions  -

1) Does AU support SMS?  Will this handset send / receive text messages? If so, will I be able to send text messages to the GSM 1900 network in Canada?

2)  What is C-Mail?

Any help you can offer would be very much appreciated.
