About 4 years ago i needed to turn my PC email into SMS messages so I could
respond to web requests and send a corresponding SMS message.
I found a great bit of software for this called ASP2SMS. This was a COM
library that I plugged into a web page. Also I used the Nokia 5110 and
serial cable (PC to Phone) and some GAF tape, and I had my own web
controlled SMS transmitter. The ASP2SMS package also catered for inbound
messages as well. I could programattically do anything i wanted to in terms
of sending and receiving SMS.
Now I know that you wont get SMS out of an iMode Keitai, but there must be
some software to access the email functions of the Handset.
I suggest you hunt for a piece of Software, instead of an industrial
strength Hardware solution... If you have a BOX and a KEITAI, you ALREADY
HAVE an industrial strength hardware solution.
The other thing you mentioned is machine to machine communication... WTF is
that? If you want machines to talk to each other, then why bother with the
SMS/EMAIL thing... that is for humans to communicate via machines.

Subject: (keitai-l) Connect imode phone to pc/server
I am looking at a imode phone device that can connect to my pc/server to
send messages (sms like) or email for machine-to-machine communication.
Connection can be serial (rs232) or USB.
Any industrial strength unit like a imode modem?
