Melody Call. Introduced in September 2003, Melody Call is a dial tone
replacement service for DoCoMo's FOMA 3G mobile phone users only. Basically,
it replaces the usual dial tone with music or any kind of content the user
want the caller to enjoy while waiting for the call to be answered. There
are two optional plans for this service: "Basic Course" (100 Japanese yen
per month) and "Enjoy Course" (200 yen). However, other carries' customers
and PSTN users will still hear normal dial tones instead of polyphonic
content, when calling to their friends with FOMA enabled phones.
