The hexidecimal below was due to it being MIME-encoded but that not being
specified properly in the headers or something similar. It actually comes
out to $B%o%s_at_Z$j(B, which makes sense, given the explanation that
you want to get the other person to call back so you can avoid charges.
That also explains, perhaps, why so many people would call back when they
get a call from a number they don't recognise. Since in North America we
don't have local charges for landline calls, I've always assumed even
here that it's someone who dialed by accident, or someone who changed
his mind and no longer wants to talk to me. (Rare, because nobody wants
to talk to me in the first place. Hey, I can wallow in self-pity with
the best on this list. :-))
