The engineer in me agrees with you, but the businessman in me doesn't care if
it's smoke signals.
The business model is proven so far, and potentially very profitable.

If you don't build it for your customer, some one else will. If you have the
freedom to pick and choose your engineering work depending on what you consider
to be most technically interesting without worrying about the necessary
economics...can I have a job, too?
