Japan has surprisingly strict (and bizarrely interpreted) laws
on obscenity. For a long time the definition of obscenity was
visible pubic hair, but this is no longer true. Unblurred
closeups of the sex organs are still considered obscene,
and with full-color displays and all it's evidently possible
to pass the threshold of obscenity even on an i-mode phone
these days...
But yes, posting similar material on normal webpages can also
get you arrested. This bit made the news because it's the
first time it's happened on an i-mode page.
