or Casio CA303 CDMAone - I like mine fine - having access to both Domestic and
worldwide WAP sites is the real boon to me over Nihon-centric imode. As for
phone services however, NTT is tough to beat - just better/smoother service in
general, in my view. Then again, there are those NTT service fees.

That one caught my eye too; slippery though, is it :)
Regarding the newly announced 'official' English iMode sites/services, I wonder
is it NTT converting the content provider's content to chtml, or is it the
content providers themselves. IE - I wonder if the 'official' English content
was a result of the foreign content providers wanting in on iMode, or if it was
NTT out looking for English/foreign content to counter a short coming compared
to WAP services ie: English/foreign content.
