Thanks for the quick feedback. Seems like there are different  
opinions on DoCoMo here. I noticed the Japanese i-mode documentation  
suggests only Shift_JIS, but the English page says Shift_JIS and  
UTF-8 is fine.
Before posting, I checked the archive. Am I mistaken or does the  
search function only dig through messages until 2005?
