Thanks for all the responses on and off list.
Looks like they did a good job butchering that phone. Surely NEC,
Toshiba & Co. are still laughing about the attempts of Europe's
finest in Japan. At the moment what it seems to do best is telephone
calls, use as a BT modem and the POP/IMAP thing. Whether you need a
fairly sluggish 3G "smartphone" to do that I am not so sure. The fact
that the keypad lock deactivates when the fairly loose camera cover
is moved in the pocket is also not a great design idea. The
predictive text feature seems very good though.
I think I stick with my J-Phone branded phone (it at least displays
the date of received emails and the weather forecast) and wait for
the Yahoo branded handsets.
