Personally I found GSM's SMS/MMS limited and outdated, compared to what
we have in Japan. Even short messaging on my au's is much better than
GSM's SMS, let alone the email capability.
The advantage of GSM's SMS is its widespread use outside of Japan/Korea.
I need to use SMS to reach my contacts who lives outside of Japan/Korea. I
use SMS regularly on my Motorola A1000 roaming permanently in Japan with
Indonesian SIM card. As for MMS, I personally found it useless. I never
need it. For Vodafone KK users, it seems though that the term MMS is
used for both MMS and Email, so that's why perhaps Kyle is looking for
way to get MMS working on his 6680.
