The resolution of the camera is not critical - older phones
(P505iS) with a 1 megapixel camera, which were state of the
art about 2-3 years ago actually work better than some newer
ones with 2 megapixel cameras.
In my experience the most critical factor is how well the
QR code is printed. Sometimes they are not printed well,
and then the scan fails.
