I see.
I can imagine that N900iL can only use private IP address, as this is
the only way I can think of DoCoMo can limit it's use within an office.
Icom support staff did mention VPN, so I guess yes N900iL can connect to
the SIP server in the office from anywhere, as long as the network where
N900iL is now can route the traffic back to the office, using for
example VPN.
Forget N900iL then.. :)
BTW, there are lots of WiFi-only SIP handsets in the market now, and I
saw some of them during net&com2005 too. These should be capable of
giving you 050 number anywhere you can get WiFi access to connect back
to your SIP server.
