No - but a radio is often more appropriate than a TV in a public place 
as it is less intrusive and requires less exclusive attention.  And 
what exactly did TV kill? Radio is still very much alive and kicking - 
and has smoothly transferred to the net - just look at what the BBc 
offers.

But it IS still true though that making a video call is too hard. I 
have watched as friends tried to set up a Foma call - they were sitting 
next to each other. After 30 minutes of messing around, they still had 
not go it working.  This is down in Fukuoka, population 1.4 million, so 
not a busy metropilis, but not the remote countryside either.

It does not yet "just work" Apple style.

Is it possible with FOMA to start the call as sound only then switch on 
vid later?
