James,

Someone may correct me but I believe those dots are simply to indicate that
the phone has been in contact with water, not whether it works or not. It
stops you taking your phone for a swim and then going down to the carrier a
week later and saying "I was just pressing a button and it stopped working.
Can I have a new one?"
