Most poeple i know who are to upgrade their phone actually get a T610,
it's really popular now. However, they prefer this model not because it
is a candybar but just because it is the *only* available cellphone (at
least within all german carrier's product ranges) with a relatively
straight design. All other models you can find in stores have a somewhat
rounded, "organic" shape and/or a wierd keypad layout. There is no such
model like a "normal" or "standard" one.
I bet that if there was a clamshell phone with a similar or even more
minimal design (straight keypad layout, rectangular shape, high quality
material, flat, no fancy applications) it would sell just as well as the
T610. The Z600 is simply too thick and almost all other clamshell models
here are Samsungs.

How can you compare Nokia and Bang & Olufsen?
Bang & Olufsen design: Minimalistic but well thought
Nokia design: Strong but pointless

You mean "designer" phones, don't you?
