I think this sums up pretty much what Nokia is NOT. 'Arts' notwithstanding,
but humans are visual and tactile sensitive creatures - as well as
functional. IMO the lower cost Nokia units are great for voice com, but
become rapidly unusable for 'other than voice' functions due to display
size, keyboard layout, menus, etc. I'm no design expert, but one only has to
see the frustration on the faces of the users in Tawian, for example,
compared to Japan. And the alternative handsets like TCL, LG, Samsung have
alot more in common with the Japanese designs than the Nokia variants.
BTW - the 'women and teenagers' represent the BULK of non-voice ARPU - so
that's exactly WHO you should be designing for! Nothing to do with politics,
just what is appealing to THEM, and THEY ultimately are paying y(our) wages.
>I think people need more a handset that fits like a glove and with
>excellent usability. but cute design and some ridiculous specs do
>sell a lot at shops, especially to the women and teenagers (excuse
>my political incorrectness).
