When do we get the first manufacturer to actually tour the users and make
something the users really want? ;-)

Take any manufacturer and it's practically impossible to find a phone that
would meet all your very basic requirements, e.g.

- size, who really wants to have phones that are as as big as they were 5
years? Hardly no one is making smaller phones, in fact, some people have
already bought very simple, monochrome, no bells and whistles phones as
secondary phones because they are much smaller than the top offerings.

- feature sets, no one seems to be able to combine all the basic features in
a single phone. Smartphones typically get everything but the fail in the
size. Samsung SGH-E700, very interesting but wait a second, where's
Bluetooth? Nokia 7200, interesting but where's Bluetooth?

- Visible external antenna. Again, this is 2003, not 1993.

.. and the list goes on and gets even worse when you start adding the
software requirements.
