Insane. And so typical of the WSJ.
That being said ... we have a very cool 3D multiplayer game due out for
Java phones in November. Would love to have this sold in Japan ... it's
great fun.
See: http://www.teknikcorp.com/SpellStrike.htm
We have this running on Nokia Series 60, 40 and 30 phones as well as
Motorolla. Porting to the various keitai handsets would not be
impossible (it uses HTTP networking, and is very light on the data use).
Anyone know a good aggregator in Japan?

For those of you with access to the wall street journal you might check
out
the article entitled "Making Games
For Cellphones Is No Easy Play," which is in the october 17 issue. as
usual
the WSJ ignores the Japanese market (the author of the article wrote an
article a year ago that said that US firms now dominated the mobile
Internet) and only discusses the problems of profitability with the
western
game developers.
