I just saw an interesting thing here:
http://k-tai.impress.co.jp/cda/static/image/2003/10/16/keeper.gif
Looks like Vodafone JP offered a free midlet named
"Memory Dial Keeper" for its 256k Java phones, which
can backup and store the contents of the memory dial.
Vodafone says the midlet will work not only on the
J-SH53 phone, but also on future models with larger
memory pool.
Two questions:
1. Anyone already know how larger will J2ME apps in
the near future ?
2. From what I understood, this J2ME midlet can access
the phone data, which is not possible in the standard
MIDP profile. Is this possible thanks to custom
libraries ? Is this possible only for Vodafone phones,
or on other sellers' phones, too ?
Thanks,
Fabio
