That's actually the number as of end june. The chart I've linked below
puts some perspective on it, though - look what's happened now they've
got decent handsets. 3's problem is they're still using '1st-generation'
3G handsets - in fact people are taking the 3 USIM out and putting them
into 2G (i.e.GSM) handsets to get the 3 pricing without carrying a brick
around.

Ntt DoCoMo has announced the first of August that Foma has reached
534.800 users. Nttd DoCoMo has a total user base of 44 million users.

So Foma has still a very marginal impact in the market and there is a 
lot
of space for the competitors even if they are going launch the 3G 
services
well after Ntt DoCoMo.

I wonder if this will be the case of 3 in EU.
