i have used group calls in the past on fixed
line phones, and it is cumbersome to say the
least. even with only 3 people it is really hard
to have a conversation because it's usually
unclear who's talking next. there are either 3
people talking at once, or no one at all.
everybody tries to say something, hears the
others talk as well, stops talking, then, after a
few seconds of silence, everybody goes, "oh,
go ahead", etc etc.
the visual image, body language etc etc that is
present in a "live" conversation is missing,
and that makes the process very complicated.
but i hate video conferences as well, so i
might not fall into the potential target group
anyway.
