IMHO Vodafone Live is going very well in Europe with sales of handsets in
line with or exceeding expectations. In particular the Sharp and Panasonic
handsets are selling well and eating into Nokia's dominant poition in the
h/s market.
Regarding pricing not fair to say the prices are "outrageous" when all
Vodafone Live! services (including data packets, MMS, ringtones and many
games) are free in many markets until 1st February.

Subject: (keitai-l) Dutch i-mode hit hard by Vodafone Live!
Can anyone confirm this?
I thought that in most of the countries where Live! was launched, it had not
been able to raise much more that disappointment, given the current
outrageous price for handsets, packets and services.
"The two services are pitched head to head, and according to a report in
Dutch business newspaper Het Financieele Dagblad, Vodafone's MMS capability
is attracting subscribers to the Live! platform. The newspaper reports that
subscribers are choosing the Vodafone platform due to its superior
interactivity and simpler pricing packages. Mobile retailers in the country
are claiming it is the MMS capability which is attracting customers."
