I don't know about the 504i but I do know that the J-Phone SH-52 has a light
(also a pretty bright and handy torch when you lose your keys etc) and
barcode scanner built into the camera aperture.
I have seen it used for a variety of purposed - all demos so far - nothing
live.

I've been sort of wondering about this, too. Is there anyone here
who has actually read barcodes with a 504i and can comment on it?
