That Esmertec technology sounds great for handset makers and users. DoJa to
take advantage of the great number of commercial-quality applis out there now,
and a more standards-based MIDP spec.
Along these lines, I'd like to take an informal poll. We know that NTT
developed the 'proprieatry' doja spec in order to get their java enabled
handsets to market first. We also know that the rest of the mobile world is
going MIDP and maybe Personal Java. Though I'd say MS isn't really a player at
this point, we can't count them out, with their massive marketing machine. As
mobile java devices proliferate throughout the world, Will NTT be able to keep
their first mover advantage in the mobile Java space? Will we see DoJa 10.X
someday? Is that their plan? Or will we see them go towards MIDP in order to
attract more apps/developers?
Regards,
Jason
