(keitai-l) who makes the screens and what are the screen trends?

hi there,
 
apologize if this has been gone over before since i'm new to the list, but
i'm getting very different answers as to who the *real* suppliers of color
mobile phone screens are?  do they come from a consolidated source or does
each big manufacturer roll their own?  for example, does Sharp produce
screens used in samsung or nokia phones or what?  
 
also, what have the trends in screen cost and resolution been?  they don't
seem to be getting much better much more quickly.  the rate of
price/peformance gain on CCD's/ image capture technology is FAR exceeding
rate of improvement of display.  what can reasonably be expected?
