think it's natural to roll out 1X in metropolitan areas first, and
it's a rule of thumb that actually data rate be less than 50% of
theoretical speeds excl. ECC.
V.90 modem (56 kb/s) 80% (40-50 kb/s, excellent technology!)
Ethernet (100 Mb/s) 60% (40-60 Mb/s max)
ADSL (8.445 Mb/s) 60% (1-5 Mb/s)
802.11b (11 Mb/s) 50% (2-5 Mb/s actual)
802.11a (54 Mb/s) 40% (10-20 Mb/s actual)
SS7 40% (60% for less priority signal like SMS)
cdmaOne 64 kb/s ? anyone please tell me
cdma2000 1X 40% (40-60 actual)
PHS 32 80% (10-25 kb/s, for the costly design)
PHS 64/128 ? PHS 128 can hardly do 64 kb/s I think?
GPRS ? anyone please tell me
PDC-P ? anyone please tell me
the speeds depend on many factors like distance, interference,
traffic, and configurations. higher layer protocol overhead
should be considered for application data (Web content).
cheers,
Ken
