something about i-shot marketing

(1) background
504i phones are basically 211i + JSCL (DoCoMo's version), and
they're now better than FOMA phones which're based on 503i.
especially F504i is so fast with two application CPUs.
both 211i and 504i support 800 MHz + 1.5 GHz dual band, which
provide some relief to the heavily burdened network.
(2) DoJa2 and i-shot, what's in common?
the secret of machiuke is that it's an agent hiding background
and sending money to the operator regularly by automatically
connecting to the network.
so both will generate new traffic, but if combined together,
the users will have bills rising too fast and you get backfire
(users flee to cheaper and better J-Phone or au/KDDI services).
(3) i-shot marketing
there're some tricks, the first is the big color sub-display.
it adds cost and not usefulness, but it may become standard
because when people choose phones at a shop, they don't have
real experience with handsets or network services.
* this is similar for colors that an LCD can display. a 260k
color LCD may not look as good as a 64k color one if you
compare them side-by-side, but the 260k phone definitely
looks better in catalog.
another good trick is number 251. J-Phone 51 series phones
have Movie Sha-Mail, but many customers may think 251 phones
are ... "2 generations better than 51"?
after all, DoCoMo doesn't really expect many people to buy
251i because they are not really prepared and they need time.
any new system will come with lots of problems.
I'm not sure if all 504iS phones will come with a camera, ...
heard P504iS would have 2 cameras, sounds mad.
if you don't like any phone on the market, I suggest you wait
a while for Sharp J-SH52 or Toshiba A5301T both great phones.
if you prefer DoCoMo, wait until winter for the 504iS.
cheers,
Ken
