Huh? They do send the actual picture. It's sent as a JPEG
MIME attachement. The From: line looks like "090nnnnnnnn
<photo-server@docomo-camera.ne.jp>" (where the 'n's are the
phone number of the phone that sent it, I would guess.)
I still have the message and photo a campaign girl sent to me, so
I'd be happy to forward it to anybody on this list who wants a look
at it and contacts me privately.

I'm not sure what you're talking about here. I was talking about this:
you put a .gif image up on a web page, put the URL in an e-mail you send
to a phone, and the phone will replace the URL with an icon when the
user sees it, and automatically download the image and display it within
the e-mail.
As far as the user's concerned, that's an attached photograph. It's
different to you, yeah, but I'm suspecting most users don't take quite
your interest in just what's going on underneath the hood, as it were.
