Thats a wonderful short term plan. However, in reality RFCs are there to
help us get to the end point with some kind of functional inter-operability.
There is a reason why there is reluctance to develop a standard, it gives
everyone too much opportunity to compete.
Didn't Docomo implement the mobitex packet system instead of waitng for a
more global CDMA system?

I'm sorry, but I have a tough time installing RFCs into real networks. RFCs
are helpful in that they can provide a level of interoperability, but in the
end I need real hardware and real software to install, not a specification
of what should be installed. That is, the RFC is a starting point, not an
end point.
