Hi there, unfortunately it's not even close!!! All it is, is a rewrap of
the old failed Pockenet service running again WAP on a color screen on a
Sony-Ericsson T68. The content is not compelling and there is nothing
that would motivate you to subscribe to any service.
The hardware is at this stage not very practical. The T68 has bugs and
is slow. The GPRS is slow as well.
I know now for sure why they didn't call it imode. Hopefully this will
be the first stage and they will get better on all fronts as they go.

Subject: (keitai-l) Know any mMode users?
AT&T Wireless has just launched "mMode," a new service that apparently
incorporates the lessons that the company learned from its minority
stake-holder
NTT DoCoMo. Setting aside the infrastructure differences for a moment, I
wonder
how similar it is to i-mode from a user perspective. The new service has
been
launched in 12 US markets, including Chicago, Detroit, Seattle, and
Kansas City.
Have any State-side pals who've tried it? Please let me know if you do.
