Doesn't set a date, wisely, but predicts that the effect will be good.
We're pretty close -- Carver Mead predicted that things would
go into low gear, or even stall, when circuit traces approached
.15 microns.
It occurs to me: the future he's predicting has sort of happened
in Japan, with the 503i series. Java iAppli compute with access
to servers within a ubiquitous, invisible infrastructure, one that
involved the kind of massive investment (generally requiring
government subsidies) that the investors are hesitant to
repeat.
