Yes, all these things about variations, lighting, and oily hands, are true
enough. Yet, customers are concerned enough about the variations that exist
at least at a basic level, that they are making this a frequent request.
I think the best we are looking for is not necessarily "good" colour
reproduction but at least "better" or "consistent" (where consistent is
before environmental variables and individual part variation). I would be
the first to say that no one is going to hold up their LCD display to their
Pantone color wheel looking for an exact match. :)
We are very much hoping not to have to test each phone with a colorimeter,
but it may come to that at some point if our customers keep seeking this
service.
