Battery life seems to depend on the country you are in. Take a look at this
phone:

It's one of KDDI's Global Passport roaming-capable phones, and at the bottom
you can see the talk time expectancy (e.g. wild-but-educated guesses) for
different countries. Japan (home) = 130 min, rest of the countries 110 min.
Also note the stand-by time difference between for example Japan (190 hrs)
and Mainland U.S. (50 hrs)
While this discussion was in danger of drifting away from the original topic
(...again...) please rest assured that this phone, the C412SA, is a foldable
one ;-)
So as to bring it back on its original topic:
Foldable, or clamshell-type, phones are *the* most popular phones in Japan
right now. Of the ten most sold phones in July, six where clamshell-type,
placed 1~4, 6th and 8th.
