I haven't nearly figured this out, but there was a little
bit about some similar problem (?) on the JavaHz
mailing list recently.

JavaHz is, as I'm sure I've mentioned, available for you
non-Japanese-readers on a better-late-than-never

Back on topic:

I'd like to do some sound-hacking iAppli, I don't have
a 503i-series phone yet.  I have been eyeing the
SO, but news like this gives me cold feet.
Recommendations and/or encouragement would
be appreciated.
