Hi All,
Just to contribute to Benedict's answer...
Multi-voice polyphony ringtones is on it's way. Am not sure for the
situation right now in Europe but we are working with a handset manufacturer
down here in Singapore and these polyphonic phones are currently being
shipped in (from Europe) to Singapore, KL and Thailand soon. There is no
mass market yet though... but expectations are high... people like ringtones
and we all know that. As for Europe, I thought the phones were already
introduced in certain markets (France at least).
Cheers,

No (Nokia and Motorola are both about to launch 'smart phones' with Java,
but these aren't mass-market products)

Very little. NEC and Panasonic have a few decent but unexciting models on
the market. Samsung has a Startac clone out. None have big screens. I can;t
speak for the chips, though, but my suspicion
Sony has two good handsets (by European standards), and is to launch one
with Music stick and MP3.
Look at www.carphonewarehouse.co.uk to see the leading UK retailer's
offering.
