I know that the top fortune-telling site, which is not the most popular
genre, has 340,000 subscribers, each paying 300 yen per month. After
deducting DoCoMo's 9%, that comes to 92.82 million yen per month, or about
$760,000. The company which has this site also has several other official
sites, for probably a total subscription of 700,000, and total revenues of
about $1.5 million per month. They have 70 employees. They are profitable,
and have recently had a fairly successful IPO.
Hope this helps.
