i think you both have good points.
but, one catch in trying to make a unix-like terminal emulator
is the latency in echoing characters.
it might be a nice concept to have "vi" on your keitai, but
i suspect the latency thru the cellular network will make it extremely painful
to use.
it begs for a different approach...
another setback of note is Henry's discovery that the i-Board keyboard for
the P503i doesn't work as expected with i-appli.
so, even if you did implement a terminal emulator i-appli, you might not be able
to type
into it with a full keyboard.
