How about the pricing?

How much does it cost to own a L-mode phone?

That should matter. And landline is not packet based.
Are they going to use the EZWeb circuit switched pricing model?

I would expect the screen to be at least 4 times of mobile phones.

Yeah, Similarities are NOT coincidental. But I would not want to imply that
DoCoMo is directly behind or controlling or designed L-Mode.

On biz model comparison: There was an interesting L-Mode seminar by NTT (not
DoCoMo) yesterday in Tokyo and a comparative analysis is required. To begin
with, the expected growth rate is closer to the introduction of fax machines
than to that of i-mode !

And of interest to those into hardware ergonomics: My first impression is
that the screens are just SMALL for a home-based system targeting -among
others- an older population. We'll see how they evolve.
