My experience is that you have to wait 6 months before cancelling your
contract or you get charged the full price of the phone (my phones were
0yen- docomo reimburses the phone shop or manufacturer?)
I once lost a phone on the train, and got a new one- it was 4 or 5 months,
so it was cheaper to just continue the contract for the extra month then
cancel.
