One thing a leased line is definitely good for is further increased
revenue for the fixed-line carrier :-)
I would actually even prefer 128 bit SSL via Internet over a leased line
without SSL. It goes without saying that leased line + SSL is even
better. And it is available 'technology'. So if its there, why not offer
it? Just a matter of putting it into the price book. The problem is that
many people find it hard to rationalize how much of an increase in
overall security they get in return.
I personally will wait until there is end-to-end 128 bit SSL from
handset to bank until I do my first bank transaction. How do you feel
about it? Does anyone know in how far this will be possible with the new
Java(-like) enabled handsets?
