There have been times when we have had better latency to the US than Tokyo
from Osaka ;)
i-Ping was originally designed as an internal tool to test access to our
servers from i-mode devices and later to test congestion with the DoCoMo
network. On another server it will certainly give different results but
should still identify DoCoMo congestion when combined with tracert.
I plan to add tracert for i-mode in the very near future with the ability to
ping and trace any IP - not just your phone gateway. So if you want to check
your servers on the Yamanote-sen you can.

Not bad except that these numbers are only 10-20 times slower than domestic
internet traffic latencies and on par with international latencies. Still
surprised that it is even that fast. Of course if you've ever used a
latency-bound web app internationally you know how limiting it can be.
