Ah - the tickle problem!
I guess a certain amount of intrusion is a good thing. If you are talking to
someone, and mid-sentence they look at their phone it is a bit rude - as if
what you have to say is boring them. I guess that a beep or noticeable
vibration does provide a social cue to interrupt whatever it is you are
doing.

Would you really notice different kinds of vibration? You might think for
example, that a soft vibration was caused by having a different shirt rather
than because of a different vibration. Maybe I'm just insensitive.
