A lot of people have described a number of good contents that exist on
i-mode. But most of these good contents have appeared in the last six
months. Does anyone think that these good contents would now exist if there
hadn't been almost ten million subscribers six months ago and more than five
million subscribers one year ago? Clearly there is a positive feedback loop
between good contents and large numbers of subscribers. docomo got that
positive feedback going through its initial focus on simple entertainment.
that success caused a lot of curious people to subscribe to i-mode and then
more interesting contents to appear. the initial focus on simple
entertainment contents was critical and if you look at the traffic, it is
still the key to the success of i-mode.
