Nick: in my view comparing imode with WAP is like comparing
Air France with Rolls-Royce-Jet-Engines:
WAP (= wireless application protocol) is a set of standards for
page description, software etc. which can be implemented in many
different ways (e.g. in Japan, Korea, Europe, US), in a similar way
as Korean Air, Air Tanzania, Air France and United may all implement an
airline service on Rolls-Royce-Jet-Engines. You really need to look
at the particular business implementation - and these come in
different varieties - and compare that to imode, not WAP as a protocol.
imode on the other hand is a full mobile data service, including
business models, brand name etc - as you all know.
Just my 2cents,
