They still make TVs in Europe!!  well..... Sony has a plant in Bridgend,
Wales I believe!

Don't know to be honest. Most of the main European carriers are trying to
aim for a Christmas / New Year launch. Networks have been up-graded and are
ready to go (Radiomobil in the Czech republic has been "live" since about
April), but it's the handset availability which is the problem. Tailormade
for the high-volume, fast-turnaround strengths of the Japanese handset
makers.

They used to make TVs and stereos in Europe before Sony showed up on the
scene.
