(keitai-l) xhtml - future mobile phone markup language?

Hi all,

I read in an article some weeks ago (I lost the URL 
unfortunately) that the specs and features of 
cdmaone/wap (wml/hdml) and i-mode (chtml) might merge 
in the near future and that the common markup language 
for both of them would be xhtml probably

Does anyone knows more about this idea and how realistic 
it is to expect something like that in the near future?
